Miracles Are Happening In Reedsport!

Hello Family and Friends!

How are you doing this incredible week!? Things really have been amazing here in Reedsport. I've begun to see so many little miracles happen as we strive hard to work and to watch for opportunities to serve and teach. :) Here is how this past week went!

So on Tuesday, we signed up to serve at the Senior Center during their lunch hours, so it gives us a chance to help them get meals ready to take to elderly people who can't make it out of their homes, but then we also serve the people in the senior center. It's really nice because everyone there really appreciates the service we provide and it gives us a chance to show our appreciation and respect to the elderly. A lot of them are so kind and friendly and have great stories to tell! :) Then right after wards we help at the Food Bank, stocking shelves and bagging food, then we get to rest for a quick lunch break at our apartment. We had dinner with our ward mission leader who was awesome in inviting a less active family to come and have dinner with us. Our ward mission leader is actually going on a mission! They just got their mission call and they are going to the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission as leadership and proselyting. That is really exciting for them! Afterwards we met with a man who has not been able to make it to church for a while, but he has a testimony but it's hard for him to get to church. He really needs a good Home Teacher, which I think we can arrange. :)

Then on Wednesday we helped with our reoccurring service as the dishwashers at the soup kitchen, then we went contacting potential people that the missionaries previous had contacted, and we found a new investigating family! They already go to another church, but they are willing to listen to us! We met with the wife on the doorstep and we talked for a while, she asked us what we believed Christ to be and I had the opportunity to bear my testimony that I knew Christ to be our Savior and the many miracles He continues to perform shows His love for us and that He does live today and having a belief in Him has given me strength every single day. :)

Thursday we conducted our regular weekly planning session and we made plans to have more lessons than we have normally been. We have a lot of people here in Reedsport to go and see, but what's kind of weird is that people don't answer the phones or their texts when we try to contact them again. It's kind of annoying actually. But we are persistent. :) Today we also helped out an elderly family with cleaning up their garage a bit and installing a accessibility handle on their wall. They are really nice and they are a part member family, and they even invited us over for Thanksgiving Dinner! :) They are amazing!

Friday we had a good district meeting in Florence. It's an interesting driving all the way from Reedsport to Florence. We have fun on the way up and down talking with each other. We also had fun with Halloween, we temporarily dressed up as each other, we wore each other ties and name badges for a few, but we switched back so we didn't confuse anyone. :)

Sunday was interesting being off of Daylight Savings! We made it to our meetings on time and such and afterwards we had TWO Member Present Lessons! :) It was awesome, so the first was with the Bishops Grandson who is awesome and I think he might be baptized here in the next month or so if he so chooses and if he receives his answer from Heavenly Father that it's something he should do. :) We talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how we can try our hardest to have faith to change and be like our Savior. The other lesson was with a woman who has a lot of family members who are members of the Church and she wants to know more about it! She did just have a baby though so it's been off of her mind lately, but we shared a little Mormon Message with her about the Restoration shared by L. Tom Perry and it brought back a lot of things that she was curious about. Yesterday was just awesome, I really felt like a true missionary and I felt the Spirit lifting me up. :) It was a good day yesterday.

Well, I've got to run, but thanks for all that you do! I really appreciate it and I hope you know how much you mean to me! Have an awesome week!

Best,

Elder Harper
